There’s a lovely park in the north of Paris called Parc le La Villette. It has a rich history, and now it’s in it’s modern phase – sculptures serving as jungle gyms, modern architecture, a center for music and dance, a cultural hub.
At the end of the main boulevard through the park is a shopping center and the Museum of Science and Technology, known for the reflective Geode, launched in 1985. We didn’t have time to go to the museum, and we could only just barely see the Geode, but inside the shopping center are some interesting boutiques and stores selling artisan wares and little trinkets. I’d love to go back in the summer, I’m sure they have outdoor concerts and films and events. A bit of a trek up north, but worth it!
